Over the company's history, SCJ has used exhibits and other forms of public engagement to raise awareness of initiatives dedicated to helping make a better world. In the past year alone, SC Johnson has partnered with three family-friendly museums, The Blue Paradox in Chicago, Recycling League in Mexico City and Aedes: what mosquito is this? in Rio de Janeiro to raise awareness of the impacts of plastic pollution and vector-borne disease. On #internationalmuseumday, learn more about these exhibits! 🌊Presented by SC Johnson, in partnership with Conservation International, The Blue Paradox exhibit on the plastic pollution crisis is an immersive experience that uses 360-degree digital projections so visitors can walk beneath the ocean’s surface, explore the impact plastic pollution has on this vital natural resource, and discover the meaningful actions needed to stop plastic waste from becoming pollution. 🦸At Granja Las Américas, a popular family amusement park in Mexico City, SC Johnson is helping to educate families about the 3Rs: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. Together, we've launched the "Recycling League," an interactive workshop where families can learn about environmental conservation and taking care of the planet. 🦟Teaming up with the Fiocruz Museum of Life  in Brazil, SC Johnson created the exhibit "Aedes: What Mosquito Is This?" to raise awareness about the dangers of the diseases mosquitoes can carry and provide information on staying protected from vector-borne diseases. The U.S. is the largest producer of #plasticwaste, equating to almost of pound of plastic waste per citizen a day. However, only 2% of this plastic is considered "mismanaged," meaning most people never see the ultimate fate of their discarded plastic. It was great to have EarthEcho International's Marine Plastics Ambassadors visit the #TheBlueParadox exhibit on the #plasticpollution crisis at the Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago. We are looking forward to seeing the great things to come from this program!

Earth Day at SC Johnson is always a big deal, from on-campus events to multiple hands-on opportunities around the globe. Here are just a few highlights from our Earth Day 2024 activities ⬇️ * In the US, SCJ hosted beach clean-up events along Lake Michigan, brought marine research scientist Abby Barrows to speak on her recent, SCJ-sponsored research on the impact of plastic pollution in Indonesia, planted flower, vegetable and herb seedlings using organic soil and compostable trays while learning about pollinators and the impact of food waste, and SCJ people volunteered with the United Way of Bay County on local clean-up actions * SCJ Canada hosted an Earth Day Expo with interactive booths hosted by our Sustainability teams * In Germany, SCJ people volunteered with Die Stiftung, to plant trees as part of the organization's work to preserve existing natural areas, such as forests, meadows and moors * Reef Check Malaysia visited our Kuala Lumpur office to share how their partnership with SCJ is supporting ocean conservation, conduct hands-on microplastics studies from samples taken from local beach sites and share how they are recycling glass bottles into coral reef rehabilitation blocks

Government representatives from around the world met last week to further advance negotiations for a global #plasticstreaty at #INC4 in Ottawa – a critical and important step to tackling the growing #PlasticWasteCrisis. Before negotiations kicked off, SCJ hosted a welcome reception for attendees bringing together many of the voices calling for collective action. Plastic waste is one of the world's most pressing environmental challenges and it's going to take action from all of us – businesses, government, and civil society – to turn the tide on this critical issue.

SC Johnson is proud to recognize Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month with our Asian American Employee Resource Group, Fusion! Throughout the month, Fusion will be hosting several events at SCJ locations, sharing special traditions, activities, and recognizing the diversity that helps make the SCJ culture unique and vibrant. #AAPIMonth

It is a tremendous honor for SC Johnson to be again recognized by Newsweek as one of the world’s most trustworthy consumer goods companies. In 1927, Herbert F. Johnson, Sr., the second-generation leader of SC Johnson, first summarized our core beliefs in a speech to employees when he shared: "The goodwill of people is the only enduring thing in any business. It is the sole substance. The rest is shadow." The fundamental vitality and strength of SCJ lies in our people. Today and every day, we are so grateful for the contributions and commitment of SCJ people around the world to earning the goodwill of the people around us.

Alive! and well, 60 years later! This week marked the 60th anniversary of the 1964-65 New York World's Fair and the debut of the Academy Award-winning, SCJ-commissioned, film To be Alive! The film, shown every weekend at the Golden Rondelle Theater at our Global Headquarters, continues to highlight our commitment to making the world a better place today and for future generations.
