Greetings, Dalarnians!

We’re glad to finally share more details with you about our Terraformed Economy update!

Equal Lands

With the update, the depth info in the Mines of Dalarnia land metadata will be replaced by a new ‘rank’ field, This rank will consider the value of the land before the update. This change ensures that all landowners will have equal opportunities, and their gains will depend on how they utilize their land. This will create a fair and balanced environment for all players, eliminating disadvantages based on land.

New Capsules

New capsules will be introduced, and each will contain up to 2 resources and will provide players with 50 digs per refill. Most capsules will also introduce a random biome.

When a landowner replenishes land that already contains a different capsule with remaining digs, the new capsule will replace it and provide 50 digs. Unlike the previous capsule used prior to the Terraformed Economy update, the new one will not add to the existing digs; instead, it will always set the digs to 50, which is way cheaper in both gas fees and resources.

Upgrading Land

Players will also soon be able to upgrade their lands (this will be implemented later this year). However, lands that have been previously upgraded using injectors will remain upgraded, so there will be no need for further upgrading.

How to find a dedicated land?

Manually finding a dedicated land can be a tedious and time-consuming task. Fortunately, the MoD Map Navigator interface offers a filtering system that simplifies this process.

By clicking on the ‘Plot Search’ option in the Map Navigator, players will access a range of filters designed to refine their land search. These filters will narrow down options based on various criteria, including Aspects, Power Level, Depths, Rent, and Resources.

To find a dedicated land, a player simply needs to select the filter that aligns with their preferences. For instance, if you’re looking for lands based on resources, you need to click on the ‘Resources’ filter. If you’re looking for land with a specific depth, you have to select ‘Depths’ and choose your preferred depth.

Once these filters are applied, the game will present a list of lands that match your preferences, quick and easy!

Replenish Timer

One of the most requested features by our community was an increase in the replenishment cooldown. We did a lot of math, explored various possibilities, and came up with the best approach to enable more people to actively participate in land management.

The Replenish Timer will work a bit differently than before. Now, it can be set according to the capsules used on it, allowing players to have multiple timers ongoing. The cooldown will be as follows:

  • 2-day cooldown between replenishes of different Tier (Depth) capsules
  • 7-day cooldown between replenishes of the same Tier (Depth) capsules

For example, you replenish a land with a Ragnarite and Silver capsule, which is PL 15. Your timer for all PL 15 lands will be 7 days, while for all the other capsules will be 2 days. Then, after two days, you decide to use a PL 7 capsule with Ozymodium and Iron. Now, your timer will look like this:

  • 5 days left on PL 15 (4 capsules in total)
  • 7 days left on PL 7 capsules (3 capsules in total)
  • 2 days left on PL 1,3,12 (4 capsules in total)

This means that the Replenish Timer now takes into account not only the last replenished capsule but also the previous ones.

With this approach, we aim to encourage landowners to experiment with different capsules and use them more strategically.

For some of you, the replenishment cooldown may still seem too short. However, please keep in mind that capsules will now have 50 digs left instead of 100. As a result, lands will need to be replenished more often, which increases the possibility of more people actively participating in land management.

Dismantling of Old Capsules

All previously existing replenishment capsules can be fully dismantled into resources, meaning you’ll receive the exact amount of resources you spent on them. This option will be available until December 31, 2023, at 11:59 PM UTC. Keep in mind that it will affect all replenishment capsules including the old ones. So, once the Terraformed Economy update is implemented, your only chance to dismantle your capsules will be until the end of the year.

What will happen to the remaining digs once the update is implemented?

If you are concerned about the remaining digs (previously, resources left) on your land, there’s no need to worry. When we designed this economy, our primary focus was to make it as effective as possible without negatively impacting our players.

Therefore, landowners who have replenished their plots at least once and have remaining digs will be able to claim an amount of resources equivalent to the cost of replenishing the same amount of digs on their land.

By limiting compensation to landowners who have actively engaged with the previous economy, we avoid creating new resources out of thin air, which would lead to inflation. This approach ensures that the transition to the new economy is fair and sustainable.

Just before the game goes down for maintenance to deploy contracts, we will take a snapshot of all land states and use that as a basis for the reimbursements. It’s important to note that the reimbursement process will work as a claim feature, so if you’re a landowner, you need to actively claim the resources after the Terraformed Economy update. The deadline for claiming is also set for December 31, 2023, at 11:59 PM UTC.
