AquaBounty's land-based farms use multiple layers of physical, geographic, and biological containment to protect our salmon and ensure they don't escape. Our GE salmon raised in our production farm are all female and sterile fish that are unable to breed among themselves or with other salmon, further reducing any impact on wild #salmon populations and species diversity. #AquaBounty saw significant progress in 2023 through expansion of our #RandD facility on #PrinceEdwardIsland; ongoing process improvements at our Albany, Indiana, farm; and a focus on #VerticalIntegration as we continuously improve salmon health and production across the salmon lifecycle. An estimated 35% of adults in the United States suffer from vitamin D deficiency, which can show up as fatigue, bone pain, muscle weakness, aches or cramps, and even mood changes like seasonal depression. It’s even more challenging to get vitamin D in the winter when there is less sun exposure, but adding vitamin D-rich foods, like #salmon, to your diet can help.
