Artificial General Intelligence: A Revolution Beyond Deep Learning and The Human Brain Kindle Edition

5.0 5.0 out of 5 stars 6 ratings

Have you wondered about artificial intelligence and where it is really going? Do you want to be able to see through the hype and understand what actually works in AI today, and how it compares to human intelligence and know whether or not it will overtake humans or even take over our world? Will we have Sexbots or Skynet? What human jobs are going to be taken over? These and more questions are answered in this book.

This book walks you through the state of the art in today’s deep learning AI describing the modern techniques used in AI and their use cases, strengths and limitations. Then it dives into the neuroscience of the human brain, showing how much today's AI differs and explains how far we are today from having AI that can compare to us.
Then we turn our focus to set the requirements of artificial general intelligence and do a tech design for an AGI that is based on the human brain, that could potentially be capable of equaling or going beyond it. Then we explore examples of AGI deployed in medicine, law, finance, defense and other fields and finally forecast how it will be able to dominate these fields as it evolves into a globe-spanning Superintelligence.

Accessible to All Audiences: While rooted in technical expertise, the book is designed to be accessible to a broad range of readers, including AI enthusiasts, students, professionals, and policymakers. Buy the book and learn more about AI and how it is going to affect the world around you, in the near term and the future as this revolution unfolds.

There is a scene in Charlie Chaplin's black comedy, Monsieur Verdoux about a man who marries wealthy women and murders them for their money during the great depression, where the relatives of a missing woman are talking to police, and, when asked to describe M. Verdoux, aver that they cannot but that they would know him if they ever saw him again. This in a nutshell is the problem with modern AI, it does a good job of pointing out a picture containing objects it has been trained to recognize, but does a poorer job drawing a picture of those objects in the first place. In other words, having a "mind's eye" image for current AI is hard to impossible. So OrbAI will solve this by having a next generation architecture of neural networks. ChatGPT has a ceiling that it cannot get past. With OrbAI's ability to generate "mind's eye" images in the "mind" of the AI, there is no limit. Even human-level intelligence will be left in the dust soon enough once this scales up with the requisite hardware. This is a window into the future of AI.

Finally, defining levels of "AI" and how the capabilities of some do not measure up to expectations of an actual AI experience. And you don't need a PhD to read and understand it. Very much looking forward to more installments from this source.
