Sandbox was created through the partnership of its founding shareholders, Sandstorm Gold Royalties (NYSE: SAND) and Equinox Gold (NYSE: EQX)—both leaders in the mining industry—as a way to unlock significant value from a pipeline of royalties spanning a range of metal types. Both companies recognized the value that could be surfaced by divesting royalty assets that no longer fit their individual criteria, and creating a new investment vehicle that could grow into the world’s preeminent diversified metals royalty company.
