#ICYMI, there’s a new report out by Milken Institute highlighting the incredible success of North Carolina Healthy Opportunities Pilots (HOP). Since launching in 2022, HOP has: ✅ Provided more than 877,900 services 👥 Served more than 32,000 enrollees 🏥 Reduced ED admissions 💰 Streamlined social care billing for CBOS, with 96% of invoices being accepted, paid, or in progress 📈 Saved an average of $85 per month, per beneficiary on Medicaid Key to these results? Powerful technology. 🗨️"Equally critical is reliable infrastructure for community services—organizational capacity and real-time referral systems—that can accommodate a substantial volume of new enrollees. Participants underscore the importance of 'closed-loop' technology enabling agencies, healthcare providers, and payers to follow each client's progress, share updates, and verify completed referrals," states the report. We’re proud to power the infrastructure that makes these life-changing connections possible. Check out the full report below!

  • “A strong woman has faith that she is strong enough for the journey… But a woman of strength has faith that it is in the journey that she will become strong.” As #WomensHistoryMonth comes to a close, we reflect on the remarkable resilience, dedication, and impact of women veterans across our nation. On March 27, at the Georgia VECTR Center, Raquel Durden was named Georgia’s Woman Veteran of the Year, an honor recognizing her unwavering commitment to service and advocacy. Surrounded by a powerful #sisterhood of veterans, allies, and past honorees—Dr. Qwynn Galloway-Salazar and Dr. Connie Hunter Baptiste, Raquel Durden honorably accepted not just an award, but a challenge: to create a lasting platform for change, ensuring that the voices and needs of #womenveterans are heard and addressed, not just in Georgia, but nationwide. Among this year’s impressive nominees were Unite Georgia partners: 💙 Raven Holstick, Georgia Department of Veterans Service (GDVS) 💙 SHERONA SMITH TOWNS, DVOP Americus, Technical College System of Georgia’s (TCSG) Jobs for Veterans State Grants team Throughout the event, speakers such as Dr. Patricia Ross, Ed.D. (Col USAF Retired) and keynote speaker Jennifer "Jaki" Johnson reminded us that a veteran’s service does not end when the uniform comes off—it is woven into their identity. Dr. Baptiste reinforced this truth in a moving video message: 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘢 𝘸𝘰𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘷𝘦𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘯 𝘪𝘴𝘯’𝘵 𝘢 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘵𝘦𝘳—𝘪𝘵’𝘴 𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨. Jaki Johnson, Founder & CEO of WellMiss®, left us with a powerful call to action: 𝘵𝘰 𝘦𝘹𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘦 𝘴𝘰 𝘧𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘴. Women may represent only 17.5% of active-duty #military, but their impact knows no bounds. Today, and every day, we honor the 90,000 women veterans in Georgia and all who have served. 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡, 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫. 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮. #Veterans #WomenInService

For too long, referrals in the human and social services sector relied on outdated, manual processes—stacks of brochures, binders of resources, and hope that people would find the help they needed. Unite Us has transformed this system by building a technology-driven, closed-loop referral platform that ensures seamless and efficient connections to critical services. 🎙️In this clip, our Co-Founder and President, Taylor Justice, joins Ira S. Pastor on the ‘Progress, Potential, and Possibilities’ #podcast to discuss how we’re mapping out services, programs, eligibility requirements, and accountability—so referrals don’t just get sent, they get tracked, managed, and paid for. They also delved into Unite Us’ partnership with NCDHHS Division of Health Benefits (NC Medicaid), which has been recognized for its success in driving better health outcomes while reducing #healthcare costs through its Healthy Opportunities Pilots. 🔗 Watch the full conversation: https://bit.ly/4iJ2leO

  • What does efficiency look like? For Medicaid recipients in North Carolina, it looks like healthier residents, fewer emergency room visits, and lower costs. The Healthy Opportunities pilot program, managed by the NC Department of Health and Human Services, and powered by Unite Us, has shown that when people have access to essentials like food, transportation, and stable housing, their health outcomes improve. The program led to measurable declines in emergency room visits and hospital admissions, resulting in an $85 per person per month healthcare cost reduction compared to the previous year. This is what whole-person care looks like. Lower costs. Healthier, stronger, more connected communities. Read the full article by NC Newsline here: https://bit.ly/4iKivVr
