Atif Zaim is Deputy Chair-elect at KPMG LLP. He currently serves as U.S. Consulting Leader and will transition into his new role effective July 1, 2025.
Atif is a trusted leader who solves big problems, listens to learn and has the courage to act on what’s right for the long-term interest of the firm. He is celebrated as a strategist and a meticulous thinker by his clients, and he is dedicated to the growth and development of his teams.
Throughout his career at KPMG, Atif has been recognized for demonstrating excellence, innovation, leading and inspiring our people, supporting partners and professionals through mentorship, living the firm's values and collaborating across the U.S. firm and globally. He served high-profile financial services clients in roles as Advisory Lead Partner, U.S. Lead Partner and Global Lead Partner.
Before assuming the role of U.S. Consulting Leader, Atif was the national managing principal of the Advisory practice. He led Advisory partners and professionals in developing and evolving the Advisory strategy, guiding the firm’s investment program, overseeing client and engagement risk, handling quality escalations, and orchestrating internal communications. He also contributed to the Advisory One Americas programs and played a key role in client and deal shaping. Additionally, Atif was a member of the Global Advisory Steering Group, representing Americas Advisory.
Atif also previously led the U.S. Customer and Operations Service Line for the firm's Consulting practice. In this capacity, he was instrumental in growing the practice by developing client relationships, expanding service offerings, forming strategic alliances and recruiting and integrating partners and employees into the practice. With a focus on assisting large banking and capital markets clients in transforming finance and adjacent functions such as middle-office, operations and risk, he helped clients enhance operations through improved governance, risk management, organizational structures, processes, technology and data architecture.
Atif also served as the Financial Services Industry Leader for Consulting while continuing to lead engagement with key clients in senior partner roles.
Atif joined KPMG in 1994 in London, moved to New York in 1998 and was admitted to the partnership in 2003.
Atif served on the board of Ascend from 2021 to 2023 and was recognized as a top consultant by Consulting Magazine in 2023. Atif holds a Diploma in Accountancy with Distinction from London Metropolitan University, is a Chartered Accountant (ACA), and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
