Production
Although our products are designed and engineered in Germany, we're proud to say they're manufactured in the USA (specifically here in Richmond, VA). The corrugated cardboard material we use consists of 70% post consumer recycled material sourced from the SouthEast region of the United States with the remainder being virgin fibers sustainably and ethically sourced via methods certified by The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).

Recommended mattresses
Generally, all mattress types except futons are compatible with Bett 2.0. However, make sure that the mattress is at least 6 inches high.

Note for smooth floors
For smooth floors, we recommend placing an anti-slip mat or rug under the bed to prevent slipping.

Bett 2.0 is a simple and sustainable alternative to a traditional bed platform. Available and sold in the EU for the past 10 years it's now available in the USA! Made of high quality corrugated cardboard containing 70% post consumer recycled material, it can be 100% recycled at the end of its life cycle.  

Bett 2.0 comes already pre-assembled and ready to use. No need for complicated instructions or support slats. Just open the box, slide out our patented expanding bed platform to your proper dimensions, and place a mattress on top. Using it in a multipurpose room or temporarily? Lean the mattress against a wall and it easily folds right back up into its storage dimensions giving you back all the space for activities! 

All our cardboard furniture is made from the highest quality heavy-duty recycled cardboard. This makes them particularly stable and durable. The innovative construction ensures a high load-bearing capacity. Cardboard furniture is not only lightweight, but also ecologically sustainable.

What happens if I spill some water and the cardboard gets wet?
No reason to panic! Just remove remove the liquid with a dry towel and resume use when dry.

How long will it last?
Bett 2.0 was engineered to have a useful life of 10 years.

Is it really 100% recyclable?
Yes! Bett 2.0 is made of 100% corrugated cardboard containing 70% already recycled material. At the end of it's life it can be recycled via your local paper recycling system.

Is there any assembly required?
All sizes come assembled and only require minor setup. For sizes Twin - Queen just expand the single pre-assembled platform to the correct dimensions before placing your mattress on top. For King size beds, setup requires you to expand two platforms to predetermined dimensions and connect them together with included connector pieces before placing your mattress on top.

Can I use any mattress with Bett 2.0?
Generally, all mattress types except futons are compatible with Bett 2.0. However, make sure that the mattress is at least 6 inches high. 

Do I also need a slatted frame for Bett 2.0?
No, you do not need a separate slatted frame. Simply place the mattress on the bed platform. The rhombus construction and the high permeability of the corrugated cardboard ensure sufficient air circulation.

How high is Bett 2.0?
The platform is 13 inches high.

How strong is Bett 2.0?
The engineered capacity of Bett 2.0 in Twin and Twin XL is 1 person, sizes Full - King is 2 people with a respective body weight of up to 250lbs.

How do I store the bed when I don't need it?
Bett 2.0 folds flat as it was delivered so you can store it to save space. If you lay it on its side, you can put the mattress on top of it against the wall.
