What if building a strong economy started with investing in kids? Fairfax County Public Schools is the ninth largest school district in the U.S. While Northern Virginia is an area of high growth, diverse industries and proximity to the Nation’s Capital, nearly 30% of students (60K!) live at or below the poverty line. That’s not just a number; it’s untapped potential the community can’t afford to lose. That’s why the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority, Think Big for Kids and Educate Fairfax are partnering to bring local businesses into the classroom. Through mentorship and hands-on exposure to high-demand industries like STEM and healthcare, students are gaining the confidence and tools to build their futures. This isn’t just a community partnership – it’s a talent strategy. When Economic Development Organizations invest in students, they invest in the future workforce. 🎙️New episode with Michael Batt and Jennie Treby drops soon on Think Bigger Voices! Stay tuned. #ThinkBiggerVoices #FutureReady #WorkforceDevelopment #FCEDA #MentorshipMatters

Human resources management firm Workday recently executed a 51,000-square-foot lease in Reston Town Center. The lease at 1818 Library St. was reported in CBRE’s third-quarter office market report for Northern Virginia. The Workday deal brings the building back to full occupancy. The new lease represents a 39% increase in Workday's Northern Virginia footprint. According to the release, Workday’s planned relocation and expansion is part of a “continued investment in supporting its growing government customer base in the region.” With the Workday deal, the 1.1 million square feet of office space at Reston Town Center is now 98% leased, according to BXP, Inc. “𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘥𝘢𝘺’𝘴 𝘯𝘦𝘸 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦 𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘤𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘰𝘯’𝘴 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘦𝘥 𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘸𝘵𝘩 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘶𝘯𝘮𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘨𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘭 𝘰𝘧 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘯 𝘛𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘊𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳, 𝘢 𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘲𝘶𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘢 𝘥𝘺𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘤 𝘦𝘯𝘷𝘪𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘰𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘭 𝘤𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴,” BXP Vice President of Leasing for the D.C.
