    Six months ago, I gave a presentation to a group of TA and HR leaders about AI and the future of recruitment. The big question they had was: “What AI should we be using right now?” My answer wasn’t what they wanted to hear, but it was (and still is) the most impactful thing they could do: 💡 Start by using the tools that you already have. Learn how to use them properly. Max them out. LinkedIn, your ATS, your Starcircle instance, your CRM, your HRIS - understand what features they have and use them as closely as possible as they are meant to be used (avoid unnecessary customisation). A lot of people still see AI as something you interact with directly on an individual level, like ChatGPT. But the most impactful AI will be baked into the systems you’re using. It just needs good data and people who use it the right way. Mastering what’s in front of you will have a bigger impact on hiring than chasing the next shiny thing.     What even is #SXSW? A month ago, I wouldn’t have been able to tell you. Now that I’m here, I still can’t. Apparently, it’s not a conference - it’s a conglomeration. People on stages saying very profound things, no doubt, if only I had the attention span to listen. And a lot of randomness and creativity spread throughout Austin. Today, I had the chance to demo the release of Starcircle’s new tech. After six months of hard work, the team has built a system that streamlines talent discovery across five key modules: Intake, Sourcing, Engagement, Screening, and Insights - helping companies find the right talent faster. It's really exciting to finally see it in action - if you're in Austin and curious, let me know and I will demo for you! This is also my first visit to the proud state of Texas, and a great opportunity catch up with some old acquaintances and esteemed clients... and get my mugshot taken at a museum of art dedicated to a hamburger chain (?)
