In an age where personal identity is often curated and presented, especially on social media, "Search Portrait" challenges this narrative by exposing the unfiltered essence of the artist's online presence. The Split Flap board, updating in real-time, provides an unedited stream of consciousness — insights into fears, desires, questions, and curiosities that shape an individual's inner world. This isn't the curated presence we want to show on Instagram, this is a look behind the curtain. We'll ask ourselves: What are we searching for when no one is around?
Nothing is excised or censored. In doing so, it opens up a window inside someone’s digital life, equal parts “The Truman Show” and Samuel Pepys’ diary. "Search Portrait" goes beyond a mere snapshot; it captures a time-lapse, revealing layers of complexity and authenticity.
