Los Angeles Hospice Home Care Offers Scholarship to Aides In Los Angeles County

Los Angeles, California--(Newsfile Corp. - May 10, 2023) - Hospice Home Care, a Los Angeles County leading provider of hospice, palliative care, and end of life care services announced today the launch of a scholarship program for hospice home care aides available to aides that have a relationship with HospiceHomeCare.org or any other aide interested in applying for the scholarship in the Los Angeles County area.

The new initiative will give funding opportunities to Los Angeles hospice care aides and other participants while supporting the hospice home care aides during their careers. A career in hospice can be demanding and the scholarship is a way of rewarding those that are up for the challenge.

"The scholarship is a dependable way to assist hospice home care aids in furthering their careers, voicing their stories on the importance on what caregiving means to them, and emphasize the changes that have occurred in their patients' lives" says Sally Winthorpe, a spokesperson for HospiceHomeCare.org. "Los Angeles County needs to hear the voices of those who provide Los Angeles hospice care to the residents of this county as they near the end of life."

Hospice home care aides play an integral role in the changes taking place in the health care system, which means the aides that receive a scholarship will essentially be given a career advancement within the industry.

During the course of this year, a scholarship will be given to two hospice home care aides who are deserving of it for a one-thousand-dollar scholarship each.

"Looking at all of the trials and tribulations facing health care workers this year made us realize the importance of initiating a program that would assist our hospice home care aids who continuously have to make some very difficult choices in the field while simultaneously continuing to care for friends and family during the most challenging times. This Los Angeles hospice care provider is offering a hospice home care scholarship program that is aide-specific through HospiceHomeCare.org and will be announced in December 2023.
