The current owner of Seventh Scout, Lynn Yeldell, has always had a passion for entrepreneurship and business. A graduate of the University of Alabama, she was recognized as one of top 20 women to ever graduate from the school in its 130 years of admitting women. She then went on to complete her MBA at the University of Texas. Upon returning to her hometown of New Orleans to pursue a career in banking, her academic background and business skills helped further her experience in guiding clients and furthering their businesses using sound marketing strategies.

Right from her college days and the time she came out, Lynn has always loved advocating for others and leading teams. Hurricane Katrina uprooted her from New Orleans and she moved to Austin, Texas. There she co-founded an Austin area gay and lesbian lifestyle magazine, L Style G Style, and actively participated in campaigns related to causes that are close to her heart, like human rights. She has served as board chair of many prestigious organizations in Austin including: NPR stations KUT and KUTX, The Long Center for the Performing Arts, and others, thus becoming a highly visible presence on the social scene in Austin.

Lynn first became a partner in Seventh Scout through collaboration and then by buying out a partner who left the agency. The remaining partner and her close friend, Rhodes Gibson, one of the co-founders of the agency, passed away from pancreatic cancer in May 2021, making Lynn the sole owner of the agency. Rhodes and Lynn succeeded in steering the agency through the COVID-19 pandemic and other tough times.

As an agency that employs Hispanic, African-American and transgender individuals, Seventh Scout is as diverse as can be. As an outcome of this, it brings to the table a greater sense of cultural awareness, creativity, openness, breadth of perspective and better decision making than the average digital marketing agency. The agency takes on only 10 retainer clients at any one time and believes in a low-quantity, high-quality approach that has yielded excellent results.

Seventh Scout is a people-driven agency with a hybrid work culture and a lot of unstructured time for employees. There are catchup meetings every Monday and accountability is through different tools like Slack and Asana. This approach encourages creativity and resourcefulness in its staff members. Each person is responsible for their own work and establishing regular communication between one another.
